Special Edition Newsletter

Hello to all,
My grandfather draws all the traditional paintings that you
see at roji and I hope you are enjoying his work.
He has been in and out of the hospital more this year and I
was thinking of something I can do to help even though I’m
not there in Japan.

Here is where you come in. If you have bought his paintings
in the past, could you possibly send me a photo of you and
his work, or just his work in your house so that he can see
someone out there is enjoying them? Or could you send me
any comments after you visit our web gallery and I’ll
translate your comment. Due to my computer crash last year,
I lost all the digital images of his work that was already
sold… (You can still see photos of them at the shop.)

He once told me that “Panting is not that hard, but getting
inspired by the place from the bottom of the heart and
remembering that throughout the painting process is a
challenge.” Now wonder he traveled all over the place, just
wanting that moment to hit him. He also told me that he has
drawn everything he wanted in his life and he has no
regrets. I wish I could say, “I drank all the teas I wanted
to try and have no regrets” when I become his age?

Personally, I have a feeling I may not see him next time I
go back home… but don’t worry, he looked great when we saw
him in April. : )

Thank you for your time and support. We appreciate it
always,

TOMOMI
